Welcome to Gayville, South Dakota!

Whether you are a visitor looking for more information about Gayville, SD or you are a resident looking for the latest information about our community, you have come to the right place. The Town of Gayville was organized in 1872. We are a small hometown community with a population of 407 based on the 2010 U.S. Census.

Gayville is located in the Southeast corner of South Dakota in Yankton County. Gayville is just off of Highway 50. We are within minutes of Yankton and Vermillion. We have a great small town atmosphere with low crime and family friendly neighborhoods.

Gayville has many businesses, churches, parks, athletic complex, community center, gas/convenience store, bank, and a growing public school district. We have the same entities of larger communities such as natural gas, city water, and sewer.

Gayville is the self-proclaimed "Hay Capital of the World". Gayville is also constantly in competition with nearby Meckling, the self-proclaimed "Hay Capital of the Universe."
